Toronto, Canada — November 24, 2024 — The Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF) proudly announces that its 2024 Best Documentary winner, Ray of Hope, is officially in contention for the 97th Academy Awards. The multiple award-winning documentary has been included in the Academy’s list of eligible films for the Documentary Feature category, marking a significant milestone in its journey.
"Ray of Hope," directed by renowned Canadian filmmakers Ryan Singh and Nikila Cole, is one of two films from the eighth edition of the 2024 TINFF chosen as an official Oscars contender. Both selections further cement the TINFF festival's reputation as a global standard of cinematic excellence.
It is honoured to play a role in amplifying the voices and visions of outstanding filmmakers like those behind Ray of Hope.

Aashika is one of the amazing Musical Artists that performed at the TINFF 2021 Awards Ceremony.
Aashika is a 13-year-old singer/songwriter/musician. She started singing at the age of 6. Her Genre is mostly pop, RnB.
Aashika doesn’t like to stay in one genre, she loves to have different combinations in her songs.
Aashika likes writing about relatable scenarios. She expresses so much emotion in her songs.
Her ultimate goal is to inspire, comfort and help people with her music.
This song is Aashika’s original song; “Underneath the mask” It’s about fake people and self-love.

The Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival is more than a film festival where movies are screened every year and include other creative programs such as the (TINFF Media Arts), a subsection of the festival dedicated to including people in the Creative Media Arts sector. As a member-driven non-profit organization, TINFF Media Arts is dedicated to advancing and strengthening the media arts community in Canada.
Every year, TINFF provides a platform where local artists can showcase their Artwork, Musical artists perform before a wide audience, Dance groups, Theater Art, creative designers, and other Media Arts are brought to life before a large audience local and international.
The TINFF Media Arts supports a variety of interactive artworks that are created by the recording of sounds, visual images, or the use of new technologies. They go beyond the fields of film, audio, video, and computer, digital, and electronic art, because these artworks are a form of creative expressions which can be exhibited in multiple platforms including art galleries, in movie theatres, on the web, in public space and even on smartphones. We believe that with the advancement of technology, artists are prone to using new tools to reflect the world around them.

TINFF is a not-for-profit cultural organization that celebrates diversity and inclusion through film. Every year TINFF brings music artists, filmmakers, film lovers and other stakeholders from around the globe to network, screen and enjoy live music performances each year at our annual festival awards and gala events in Toronto and the GTA.
TINFF is a year-round festival & award competition with live screening and live-music events held annually showcasing some of the best Canadian and international cinema, with two days of hosting Ontario local music artists on the big stage at our annual live music events.
TINFF was founded on October 1st, 2016 as a festival that increases awareness and engagement in celebrating diversity and inclusion through film and music. One of TINFF’s main objectives is to engage people in the community, to discover, mentor and promote young local artists. TINFF has used its platform to support and provide exposure to Local Music artists, Black Filmmakers, Women in music and film, and other minority communities, bringing them together to network while embracing an international presence. TINFF continues to work with local institutions and colleges like Humber College, opening its door to newly graduated students from other music and film institutions to intern with us and take advantage of our mentorship programs.
Music plays a key role in every aspect of our lives, this could be through recorded songs, live music events, or through music in film, music scores in films, documentaries, music videos and others and TINFF provides a platform that represents every aspect of the music and entertainment industry.
