TINFF FILM ACADEMY (TFA)

WORKSHOP PROGRAMS

The Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival is pleased to lunch it's TINFF Film Academy (TFA) hybrid Workshop & Mentorship Programs.

Program Structure:

The 2 weeks of acting, screenwriting, and editing and the 4 weeks of filmmaking hybrid workshop and mentorship program will be online lectures. The workshops will be delivered via (Zoom) and taught by some of our experienced roster of industry instructors. All workshop participants will need access to a computer equipped with the required software, a microphone, a web camera, a stable internet connection, and able to set up a Zoom account. 

TINFF is dedicated to Bridging the Gap through accelerated vocational training programs like this which is why we invited you to take advantage of this opportunity to enroll in a workshop program and invite a friend or two for a continuous learning experience.

TINFF Festival Awards & Gala Events:

Selected films from the programs will be screened at the TINFF Festival Awards & Gala events In Toronto and its affiliate festivals in Canada.

Registered Filmmakers in the programs are welcome and invited to attend the annual edition of the TINFF Festival Awards & Gala in Toronto.

We are now accepting registration Online and will continue until workshops are full. There is no in-person registration.

Toronto & (GTA) Applicants

After the first two weeks lecture-based online program, all filmmakers based in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) will have the option to work in groups or independently to produce and direct their own short film projects. Student filmmakers will be supervised by one of TFA's industry-based instructors.  

International Aplicants

After the first two weeks lecture-based online program, all student filmmakers based outside Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) including all international students will independently Produce and Direct their own short film project. Student filmmakers will be supervised by one of TFA's industry-based instructors.

Final Projects & Deadlines

All projects must be shot and submitted within the (second) two weeks of the programs to the last day of the fourth week for your project to be considered at the TINFF2023 Festival Edition in September.

Hybrid Workshop Program

The 2 to 4 weeks TFA Workshop will be online, and the workshops will be delivered via (Zoom) and taught by some of our experienced roster of industry instructors.

All workshop participants will need access to a computer equipped with the required software, a microphone, a web camera, a stable internet connection, and able to set up a Zoom account. 

Filmmaking Intensive


Introduction to Independent Filmmaking


The TINFF Film Academy filmmaking workshop programs will be lecture-based and hands-on structured program. The first two weeks of a four weeks program will be lecture-based programs thought online via (Zoom). The programs will educate students on the overview of all the stages involved with filmmaking for most independent productions, an important step for new directors and producers.


The program will teach the different processes and steps in the writing process, workflow planning, pre-production, production and post-production stages of shooting, assembling your production crew, the fundamentals of production, cinematography and the importance of having quality sound recording, getting all your shots, the editing process and other important information you need to know for completing and exhibiting your film. This workshop will focus on a basic overview for new filmmakers and a good way to kick-start your filmmaking career.


 

Online Workshop:

 

Please take note that all workshop participants will need access to a computer equipped with the required software, a microphone, a web camera, a stable internet connection, and able to set up a Zoom account. Before the workshop's start date, kindly create a free Zoom account by visiting: https://zoom.us/signup.TFA’s program instructor will send you an email with the ZOOM link and password, which are needed to join before the class starts. If you have not received it at least two hours before the workshop starts time, please check your SPAM folder or PROMOTIONS tab before contacting TFA.

 

The ZOOM link will prompt you to open the application or web browser. After this, your instructor will admit you into the call. It is important that you make sure to log in using a Zoom account with a profile name the same as your registered name for the class.
